Chances are, you’ve been eating the way you are now for a long time. This isn’t a criticism on you, or your lifestyle. It’s simply a fact that we tend to be creatures of habit!
Making a change in the way that you normally eat takes a lot of will power and a real drive for change in your life. This is often why people ‘fall of the wagon’ when it comes to diets.
There are several ways to implement a diet change in your life, and it really depends on the type of person you are. Some work best with drastic changes, while others prefer a gradual change.

Drastic Changes in your Diet
Introducing a drastic, quick change in your diet is often what people try, because it eliminates bad habits right now. However, many people consider it like going ‘cold turkey’ from bad foods.
The best way to do this is to wait until you have very little food in the house. Consider it like eating through your options, and not having any bad food to choose.
Then, print out the glycemic index list, or write down a list of good foods – those with a low glycemic number – and take it to the store. Stock up on low glycemic index food that is good for you, and good for your health.
This means that you have no options for bad eating, and therefore you’re almost ‘stuck’ eating healthy!
Gradual Changes in your Diet
Introducing gradual changes into your diet isn’t always the easiest way to go, but for some, they consider it the only way. When you gradually introduce foods, you tend to gravitate to the unhealthy options in your fridge.
But that certainly doesn’t mean you can’t eventually change your diet! Start by making a point when you go grocery shopping to purchase at least one item that’s low on the glycemic index. Eventually, it’s going to be easier to eat according to the index.
Why Make the Change?
It’s hard changing your lifestyle, and food is so engrained in us, changing the way we eat can be almost torture. But when you take that step and realize that you should change your lifestyle, and your eating habits, it can help you.
Make sure that you’re ready for the change you’re implementing when you make the choice to eat low glycemic index food, and stick to the plan. Not only for your looks when you’ve lost all that fat, but also for your health, and finally, really for the quality of your life.
